Local lawmakers and candidates are split on the need for reform in Harrisburg, with some calling for serious change and others skeptical about ideas like a constitutional convention.

Over the past two weeks, The Republican-Herald interviewed Schuylkill County's state legislators and candidates in this year's elections about the need to change Pennsylvania's government.

The Republican-Herald spoke with state Rep. Neal Goodman, D-123, and the lone Republican primary candidate for the seat, Ettore G. DiCasimirro, New Boston; state Rep. Jerry Knowles, R-124, and his presumptive Democratic challenger in the General Election, Jeff Faust, East Brunswick Township supervisors chairman; state Rep. Tim Seip, D-125, and two Republican primary candidates for the seat, Robert M. Loy, Washington Township, and Michael G. Tobash, Pottsville; and state Sen. David Argall, R-29, whose seat is not up for election this year.

The primary election is May 18.
