The company said these are the extra services offered to customers who are unfamiliar with Singapore and need some assistance.Said Mr O'Hagan: 'Having good knowledge of the business, and good after-sales service make a big difference. They also know what expats are looking for.'
Business experts said companies like Presto are rushing in to cater to the specific needs of foreigners.
Ms Sarah Lim, a marketing and retail lecturer at Singapore Polytechnic, said expatriates are a niche market and the business is viable because they have spending power, and being unfamiliar with the environment, they need assistance.
She said more such niche businesses will pop up as foreigners continue to come and work in Singapore.
Just last month, a fair catering specifically to expats was held at Suntec Convention Centre, the first event of its kind here.
On offer were information, products and services for the expat crowd. The event attracted about 2,200 people from 47 countries.
