BROOKSVILLE — A month later, the money is still gone, and the man who walked away with it has not been identified. And George Sudyam has pretty much given up on recovering his $14,000.
Now, he just wants justice.
"It's personal," Sudyam said Monday. "This has put me in the hole a bit. I could use help from the public again."
To that end, he is trying to generate more leads by offering another $2,000 to anyone who can provide information about the case.
Hernando County Sheriff's Office detectives could use the help. They are still looking for the unidentified man who picked up the bank bag containing Sudyam's cash from the parking lot of a Circle K on March 22.
The bag, containing cash he was planning on using to pay taxes on several properties, fell from his car while he was going into the convenience store.
Days after Sudyam went to authorities, the Sheriff's Office released a video from the store's security camera showing the man walking off with the money. Despite this strong evidence, investigators have not been able to identify the man, let alone find him.
